The More You Know
The National Domestic Violence Hotline is featured in the NBC’s The More You Know public service campaign for 2009. Two spots by two NBC actresses focus on domestic violence with the Hotline number shown on the screen. The More You Know is the longest running, most comprehensive network public service campaign in the media landscape. For nearly two decades, the campaign continues to make a difference in communities across the country by raising awareness of important societal issues and motivating viewers to take action. Through its on-air public service announcements and website, The More You Know reaches more than 53 million viewers each week.
The NDVH spots feature Law and Order: Special Victims Unit actress Mariska Hargitay and Medium’s Patricia Arquette. Both shows have featured domestic violence victims in episodes.
NBC’s The More You Know has garnered numerous awards over the years including the prestigious Emmy and Peabody Awards.
The More You Know – Patricia Arquette
Patricia Arquette’s Allison Dubois’s Cases Keep Her Awake at Night
On NBC’s Medium, Emmy winner Patricia Arquette portrays Allison Dubois, a dedicated wife and mother, who also happens to be a gifted psychic able to communicate with the dead in NBC’s hit drama series Medium. Arquette received the Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category after the telecast of the initial 16 episodes of the critically acclaimed mid-season series.
The granddaughter of comedian Cliff Arquette , she was born in Chicago and raised in Los Angeles. Her father was actor Lewis Arquette and her siblings — Rosanna, Alexis, Richmond and David Arquette — are all actors.
Arquette’s feature film credits include Richard Linklater’s 12 Year Movie a.k.a. Boyhood, Andrew Davis Holes, Michel Gondry’s Human Nature, The Badge, and Little Nicky.

Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson Leads with Her Heart
After winning the 2006 Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series, Mariska Hargitay returns for her 10th season as Olivia Benson, the ambitious and emotionally driven detective on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
The role earned her a third Emmy Nomination in 2007, a 2004 Golden Globe Award, three SAG Award nominations and a Gracie Allen Award for American Women in Radio and Television.
“As a woman, it’s gratifying to play such a multilayered part. Olivia is not only a competent, street-smart cop, she’s also an empathetic woman who can respond emotionally to victims of terrible crimes without compromising her professionalism,” says Hargitay.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Hargitay is the youngest daughter of screen legend Jayne Mansfield and Mickey Hargitay. She divides her time between New York and Los Angeles. The UCLA graduate speaks Hungarian, French and Italian. Hargitay is married to actor Peter Hermann and they have one son.
