The Verizon Foundation will be awarded the 2008 Vital Link Award in recognition of their contributions to the National Domestic Violence Hotline and for their outstanding support for prevention of domestic violence and victims services throughout the United States. The Verizon Foundation participated in the Hotline’s 10th Anniversary initiatives, including the 2006-2007 Decade for Change Summit. The Vital Link is the Hotline’s most distinguished award and will be presented at the Vital Link Awards in New York City on October 28. We are proud to salute The Verizon Foundation as a national leader in raising awareness and supporting services to end domestic violence in America.
We are pleased to announce an inaugural Vital Link award for national volunteerism, which will be presented in 2008 to Jacquelyn Pierce and Nannette White in recognition of the
General Federationof Women’s Clubs as founding partner of the
Million Voices Campaign to End Domestic Violence in America.
