I am a member but I’m still not sure what is expected of me.
The level of participation is up to each individual.  The Million Voices Campaign is a grassroots campaign, which basically means citizens such as yourself are out there showing their support to end domestic violence and encouraging others to be a part of the cause.  Some Million Voices Campaign members choose to participate in a small, personal way such as letting a loved one know about the National Domestic Violence Hotline as a source of help.  Some decide to use their time and effort to recruit additional members.  Others choose to use their voice and take a more action-oriented route speaking to groups, sending letters, and speaking to officials about the need to end domestic violence.  All of these actions are great and equally worthy.  The most important thing is creating dialogue about domestic violence and sharing your belief that the time to end domestic violence is now.

Where can I get materials if I am working with the community?
Right now we have many flyers and brochures available in our Read, Learn, Teach area for you to download. We will add additional materials to this area for you as we produce them.    If you are looking for Million Voices Campaign buttons or 6′ banners for tables or presentations, email millionvoices@ndvh.org.  We still plan to make more products available so keep an eye out for them in the Million Voices E-newsletter!

Why is it so important that I collect emails and not just names when I’m recruiting?
The Million Voices Campaign to End Domestic Violence in America is more than just collecting names.  It’s about creating a community of people who feel strongly about our issue and taking action.  Members like you have told us that they want to hear about your achievements, the success of the campaign, and the latest information on domestic violence in a timely fashion.  As the rate of postage continues to rise, it makes it harder to communicate with the thousands of members we have.  In order to keep up, we have chosen to use email as our main method for communicating with members.  Of course, we will always accept registrations with just names who are taking the pledge, but when possible please get their email so they can become an active member of this grassroots campaign. 

Why am I not receiving the E-Newsletters?
There are several  possible reasons but they are easily correctable.  If you suspect you have not given us one or there was a data entry error, please re-enter your information on the join page and we can update your information. 

If at some time you used the “opt-out” link in another Hotline email, it has removed you from all email communications.  Please contact millionvoices@ndvh.org to change your subscriptions.

I would like to receive only one email subscription.
The National Domestic Violence Hotline sends a Vital Link e-newsletter every two months and sends Million Voices Campaign e-news twice a month. You may decide to receive all our emails, no emails at all, or only certain emails that interest you. If you would like to change your email subscription options, please email millionvoices@ndvh.org.
